3DMM Evil Episode 01

This review contains minor spoilers.

Klaymen starts his, what I hope to be a lengthy and successful, series with Episode 01 (how did you guess?). 3DMM Evil is basically a chat show with a couple of skits and adverts bunged in to create a fairly unique show. Time has obviously been spent trying to get the television-show-feel and I am pleased to say that it worked rather well.

Guest stars who feature in the first episode are Thomas Saville and Sammy Sagitarius, and they come with clear voices (phew!). They enter with a little backing tune, like most chat shows, and they come to sit on a chair and talk to the host. The interviews themselves were very interesting to listen to, with Thomas Saville talking mainly on the Knights of Camelot and with Sammy talking about the Community Clash series and the community itself. Despite not seeing the Community Clash movies (yet), I still found Sammy's interview surprisingly entertaining. The questions have obviously been given a lot of thought and credit goes to Klaymen (and the guests) for this.

The adverts are generally fun to watch, with Apfigur and Jeff Ching featuring. A couple of skits also appear here, and although some were amusing, they weren't as funny as half of the skits in the hilarious Skitzophrenia. Perhaps this is something to work on? I'm not sure what 3DMM Evil tries to focus on the most, but personally I think the interviews were the bits that were concentrated on the most and they were also my favourite part of the show.

The scenery in general was, well, too basic. The most important objects, the chairs and the table in the chat room, have been done fine, but there seems to be nothing else. If this was real-life, you would wonder how much money the producers actually spent in making this variety show, and the number would probably be in double, maybe triple figures. In the sound department, things were generally fine. Voices were done extremely well mostly and my only hitch is that sometimes the music was a tiny bit too loud. But overall, this was very enjoyable to watch. It does not matter how simple the sceneries are, nor does it matter how the skits compare to some from Skitzophrenia. This is still something worth the watch and with some improvements here and there, this could well be the start of something really special.

Score: 72/100
