This is one of those movie I knew I was going to have to download and watch one day, just because it's so notorious for being...well...not so good, but kept putting it off. The release of its spoof "Replay: Replayed" was the final factor that lead to me downloading it. What I got was, sadly, exactly what I expected. Now I'm not saying that it was "AN ABOMINABL3 ABORti0N!!!", there are a couple scenes that I actually thought were pretty cool from a directing stand point (the scene with the water dripping into the puddle comes to mind), but they were few and far between...and this isn't a very long movie.

The storyline is about a cop tracking down a killer who (from what I gather) blew up a building to cover up for his murder. Well, there's an explosion in the beginning, and then you find out that the only body found in the destroyed building was of someone who died from a bullet wound. What was the point of blowing up the building? Well, apparently it didn't really have a point, as it's never brought up again. The voice acting is pretty okay for the most part, but there are a few problems. Whoever played the guy operating on the body, for instance, sounds like all of his lines were recorded with some kind of heavy machinery operating behind him. Also, some of the lines in the movie are pretty laughable. I had to laugh when the cop says to a crying family member of the victim, without any reason, "I think I know who the killer is, AND I THINK HE'S STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!".

Amongst the many problems the movie suffers from (most animation related, which I can look over), the most glaring is the ending. Now, you'd think that with three endings at least one would have been interesting in some way. No such luck. One is laughable, the other is HORRIBLY predictable (note to all directors working on whodunit type movies- if you have 2 suspects, DON'T KILL ONE OFF BEFORE YOU WANT THE AUDIENCE TO KNOW WHO THE KILLER IS!), and as for the third ending...well...the less you talk about that one, the better.

The director does show some amount of promise in this movie however, so I do encourage him to keep releasing movies and continue to improve. A few suggestions though- focus on improving the script writing, have a few more suspects in a movie of this kind, and avoid useless information that only serves to add some more length onto the movie. I give this movie a 35% out of 100%, plus 5% for using the "Burly Brawl" music from Matrix Reloaded- which rules.
