In
Community Clash: Episode 3 by Sammy Sagitarius, the gang meet up
with longtime community big shot Jon Sapone. This installment is
one of my favorites through the entire series. While
questionably pointless, it does it's job in explaining what was
happening at the end of Episode 2, and how the gang are going to
get to Episode 4. What more do you really need?
The direction in this movie is of much better quality than the
last installment, and, in my opinion, the first as well. While
the angles might be boring, moving cameras nonexistent, and
cinematography bland, this episode definitely has.... well,
nothing in terms of direction going for it. But that's not to
say that it's poorly constructed or thought out… not at all! The
nonmoving scenes tell all that they need to, and everything else
falls neatly into place. I honestly had no major complaints in
this department, but it still has a whole lot of room for
improvement.
The jokes abound in this episode. In fact, I found myself
laughing out loud at a number of spots. The Andres-soup bowl bit
is probably the highlight of the entire series for me; it was
just so golden and delicious. The advent of Jon Sapone was
handled so slickly that it was actually kind of humorous itself.
Little stabs and community jokes abound, but the Pikios dinner
scene is probably the greatest of the elbow-nudges in this
episode. And great it was, great it was.
The voice acting for this episode was also a highlight. Most
every line was spot-on. In fact, I went looking for who played
Jon Sapone, but I couldn't find the name in the credits or
attached texts. Either way, voices were of much better quality
than the last episode. The voices, however, only compliment the
incredible writing. Each character's lines were either
hilarious, suiting to the character, or good for story purposes.
Most of the lines, however, grab two or three of those qualities
and run like mad. Again, I was rather impressed.
Overall, Episode 3 is the best yet, and a personal favorite of
mine. The jokes were far from predictable, and the interaction
trumped the last two installments for sheer viewer interest. I
think I actually cared about what was going to, and did, happen
in this episode, which hints very strongly that the series is
developing extremely well.
8.5/10
Many great jabs and laughs to be had, possibly the best of the
series
